Dear Prayer Warriors,

Greetings from Lima, Perú! Dad and I are in transit on our way to California. Praise the Lord our trip has gone well so far! :-)

This past month has been busy. Thank you for your prayers for my father's ministry here in Perú. He had a busy but profitable time. I enjoyed having him in my little home I share with Darlene. Several times he accompanied me to the oncology department at the hospital and helped witness to the patients waiting there to see the doctor. I was also able to take most of his classes that he taught at the Bible institute. One week he went to the river town of Aysana and taught two classes there. They really kept him busy, so much so that he returned to Iquitos almost voiceless. The students really profited from his teaching on the doctrine of the Holy Spirit and how to interpret the Bible. Back in Iquitos, Dad had opportunity to lead an elderly gentleman to the Lord and greet friends of long acquaintance.

Right now I am heading to California to see Dr. Frakes for my yearly check-up. There are other check-ups on the list as well, some of whom I did not get around to while on furlough.

I would also like to get things ready for the January mission trip the deaf will be making, seeking to reach the isolated deaf in the river towns with the Gospel. We who have been blessed need to pass this blessing on to others.

Please continue to pray much for Efata Baptist Church for the deaf. Pray for Pastor Abraham, Patsy, and me in our leadership and teaching roles. Pray for the deaf to grow spiritually in understanding, wisdom, and their Christian walk. Pray for couples who are working on their paperwork in order to get married before the end of the year, especially for Diomedes and Teresa and for Claudio and Maribel. Please for some unspoken requests as well. Thank you!

May the Lord bless you all richly!

Your sister in Christ,
Lynn Porter
