Dear Prayer Warriors,
Happy Thanksgiving! Truly we have much to thank the Lord for! May our lips be ready with His praise at all times.
Thank the Lord with me for a great retreat with the institute students! Most of the students were able to take part because of a $20 offering and working together to donate food supplies. Two Iquitos pastors shared with us what it means to be 'Called of God.' One night we watched the movie 'Fireproof.' It was a memorable time.
Thank the Lord with me for another semester of teaching at IBBI. Three students have been faithful in studying the Life of Christ course with me. One professor had to step down because of sin in his life, but two others stepped in to continue his classes. We look forward to graduating three men on Dec. 5. Please pray for provision for the students in paying their bill before final exams next week.
Thank the Lord with me for good IBBI choir presentations in three churches this semester. Pray for the final presentation in Libertador Baptist Church this Sunday. Pray that the brethren will be encouraged to study for the coming year. Pray for the Bible institute that the Lord will provide the right person to be the administrator for this coming year.
Thank the Lord with me for the final class held in Mazan for the deaf there. Four were there from Mangua, and Daniel, an older deaf man from Mazan, was there for the first time since the January retreat. We missed having Pedro and Melicita but pray they will be able to join us for the January retreat in Apayacu.
Thank the Lord with me that the letters inviting the deaf to the retreat have started going out. Pray that the Lord will bring together those He wants to have at the retreat. In October we found another little deaf boy upriver from Iquitos. Pray for Pastor Lee Johnson as he prepares for preaching at the retreat and for the rest of us as we prepare other classes and activities. The retreat, Lord willing, will be January 25-30, 2010.
Thank the Lord with me for those who have continued faithful to the Lord at Efata with their decisions made at that time. Pastor Abraham has been working with Diomedes, and Diomedes has begun preaching. Erick and Boris were baptized. I also thank the Lord for the deaf who continue to study the Source of Light Bible lessons. Please keep praying for their spiritual growth and understanding.
Thank the Lord with me for several young people who made decisions for Christ at Betsan last month. Most have started studying the Source of Light Bible lessons. Some are in my Sunday School class and earned Bibles through verse memorization. Several others hope to earn their Bibles this coming Sunday. Pray for their continued spiritual growth and for the salvation of others.
May our Lord bless you as you serve Him day by day. I am thankful to Him everyday for you!
With love in Christ,
