Dear Prayer Warriors,

Greetings from the Lima airport! Yes, I’m finally on my way home. This has been a busy time with several blessings. The weekend of May 18-20 I was able to attend the 30th anniversary of Efata Baptist Church in Lima and renew friendship with many I had known in the past as well as be encouraged by both deaf and hearing servants of God. At this time I also met with Lee and Eva Johnson to discuss details of the January mission trip to reach the deaf living along the Amazon River. Lord willing, in September, I will be travelling to Chiclayo to meet with the team that is getting ready for this ministry.

Last Saturday, 16 deaf students of the Source of Light Bible lessons, along with 9 friends and family, met at my home for food and fellowship. The evening culminated in each student giving a memory verse from their lessons and the giving of certificates to two of them who completed their current series of studies. Diana finished the beginning series, The Way to Eternal Life, and Claudio received his third certificate for completing the 9 lessons on The Life of Christ. Please pray for their spiritual growth and understanding and that they will apply what they are learning to their daily lives.

Since I last wrote, I learned that the annual meetings of the DBFA (Deaf Baptist Fellowship of America) will be held at the First Baptist Church of Long Beach on June 25-29. This is close to home, and I already have a place to stay with my aunt. Lord willing, it will be an opportunity to see many who are working in this special ministry. The evening meetings have as speakers, men, both deaf and hearing, from other countries who are dedicated to reaching their deaf countrymen. The information bulletin about this conference says that the evening sessions are open to those who live within a 200 mile radius of Long Beach. That includes many of you. If you are interested, please drop me a line. I’d love to see you. J
