Dear Prayer Warriors,

Greetings from the jungle! Praise the Lord I¡¦m still here and able to keep going! The antihistamine capsule twice a day has helped to keep the rash down. The Lord is answering prayer!

We are down to three ABWE missionaries. Patrick and Gina Cassidy and their family left the end of March. Andy and Carol Patton and their family left the day after Easter. Rich and Dee Donaldson left May 19. Darlene, Sarah, and I are left. Sarah¡¦s year of short-term ministry ends in July so we will have another ¡§good-bye¡¨ to say. We have already faced our first challenge with the mission house that Sarah is living in having serious problems with the electrical cables that bring electricity into the house. They are short-circuiting, and the electrical company disconnected her power. She has been without current since Friday. We are still awaiting word from the Peruvian pastor-electrician who is working on getting the new cable at the best price. Pray for Sarah as she teaches music at the Bible institute and gets ready for a group of young people coming to do repairs and painting at the institute as well as share a program in some of the local churches. Lord willing, we are looking forward to the Donaldsons returning in October. That is the month I am due to return to California to get a yearly check-up with my doctors there. Lord willing, I¡¦ll be back after a month. Pattons are planning to be in this year¡¦s ABWE candidate class. Pray for the Lord¡¦s guidance in their lives.

Things are going well at Efata church and school. The kindergarten class is keeping Joyci and me busy. All but one of the six children are boys. Pray that we will be able to motivate them to enjoy learning. The other students are doing well in their studies. Pastor Abraham and Patsy are their teachers in grades 1-5. Pray for Pastor Abraham and Patsy in regards to their health. Migraine headaches and severe abdominal cramps are a couple of their ailments. Pray, too, for their finances as they recently suffered a loss of support.

The church continues to move forward for the Lord. Almost every week we have new visitors. Please continue to pray for spiritual understanding and the salvation of souls. On Mondays I am teaching the Source of Light Bible lessons to the deaf young people who come. There are usually around 10 who come. Lord willing, in July we will have a three-day retreat. Our church anniversary and special meetings is coming up the last weekend of August. Then in January of 2007, we are planning a missionary trip to reach the deaf who live in river towns between Iquitos and the Columbian border downriver. Pray for wisdom in our preparations. We work on the plans for the retreat, anniversary, and missions trip on Thursday nights. Our Friday night prayer meetings in the homes of church members are now better attended. Last Friday night there were 10 of us in the circle. Pray for our witness to the family members as well.

Next Sunday is Election Day here in Peru where voting is compulsory. They are voting between two presidential candidates. Please pray for wisdom for the people in voting and for peace and calm during the process.

Thank you for your prayers and encouragement. I am not doing very well with keeping up on my personal correspondence. The access to the internet (which is very slow) is usually only available early in the morning or very late at night. Often I have a hard time working it into my schedule. If you use the lpefata@terra.com.pe address, I will be able to work on answering you offline. fº

God bless you!
Your sister in Christ,
Lynn
