Dear Prayer Warriors,

It has been awhile since you have heard from me. Your prayers during these past two and a half months have been much needed and appreciated. Teaching at the Bible institute and continuing my ministries with the deaf and at Betsan Baptist Church has kept me more than busy. I'm still trying to keep things going and crying out often to the Lord for His strength and wisdom.

Praise the Lord for the successful completion of the History of Missions class! That one was scheduled for only eight weeks. Now I miss the interaction with the second year students. Please continue to pray for Angelica, our fourth year student who hopes to graduate in December. She has health issues – headaches, sore throat, tonsillitis, and the like – that make studying difficult. My other three classes are with Angelica.

This month the Bible institute is celebrating its 62nd anniversary. The main event is June 26. Please pray for a God-honoring time with the brethren from the Baptist churches.

Seven to nine deaf girls and women have been coming for their weekly Bible study in my home. Please pray for their spiritual birth and/or growth as the case may be.

We had a wonderful time at Gallito, sharing with the deaf there in April. It will not work out to have a class in the part of Panguana where the deaf live because the river level is falling and it is too muddy to get to. So the plan now is to have another class in Gallito, Lord willing, on Saturday, June 19. Please pray for spiritual understanding and awakening, especially for Edgar, the little deaf boy who lives in Gallito.

The ministries at Betsan Baptist Church have not seen much change. This past Sunday there were 18 children in my class. Please pray for wisdom to know how to help them best with my furlough date approaching (Dec. 2010), and no one in the church seemingly interested in taking the class. Please pray, too, for Father's Day blessing this Sunday.

May the Lord continue to bless all of you who are fathers, too. Keep looking up!

With love in Christ,

Lynn L. Porter
