Dear Prayer Warriors,

Greetings once more from Vista! Praise the Lord for a pleasant and safe trip to Oregon with Sharon! The highlight was getting to spend the day with Miriam in Ashland, including a picnic and concert in the park. :-) The mountains and evergreens were a beautiful change of scenery, plus the fawns running across Sharon's property. We had a good time and accomplished most of our goals, too.

Praise the Lord, the sixth session of chemo is now behind me! A week later I am now feeling better and getting back to working on email and correspondence. There is still no date set for the surgery. I had to change oncology radiologists because my insurance will only pay for radiation administered in a hospital setting. My appointment with Dr. Coleman is on August 5. This is only a get acquainted time as radiation is the last thing they will do to combat the cancer, after surgery and any further chemotherapy, if needed. Thanks for your prayers!

Last night I had a good talk with Jennifer in Iquitos. She is being used of the Lord to help clear up misunderstandings among the deaf and with Pastor Abraham. Jennifer is rejoicing in souls that have been saved as she goes with deaf young people to reach out to the poor in Iquitos. They are still open to the gospel. Next week, Lord willing, two more ladies will join her and the ministry team at Efata Baptist Church to do a DVBS for both hearing and deaf children. Pray that the children will understand and trust Christ as Savior. Please pray for Jennifer as she seeks to serve the Lord there for the next two weeks. Pray for wisdom in helping the Deaf understand their pastor and be supportive of him in ministry. The deaf school is doing pretty well, though there are only 13 students this year. The Lord continues to work in the lives of His people. How I'd love to be there, too, but know it will be in His good time!

This comes to you through hotmail because I have changed my email address. Please note the new address "lpefata@hotmail.com" The meganet address in Peru runs out today so I have been working on getting everything switched over. Hopefully, all of your addresses are correct. :-)

May the Lord bless you as you serve Him!

With love in Christ,

Lynn Porter
