Dear Prayer Warriors,

Greetings from Iquitos! Thank you for your prayers. Darlene and I had a wonderful time in the mountain city of Arequipa. There was good fellowship with the other missionaries, times of refreshing around God's Word, and a profitable time learning about "Situational Leadership." Please pray we will be able to apply the principles learned to have a greater impact on others for the cause of Christ.

Since returning to Iquitos and the ministry here, I have been struggling some. The neighbor children have seemingly lost interest in the Bible lessons, though they still come for a Sunday afternoon Bible class. Also, after a short night due to traveling, my insomnia returned along with some of the allergic reactions. Praise the Lord, this week I have started sleeping and feeling better!

I continue to visit the Oncology department at the hospital and have had some opportunities to share the Gospel as well as hand out tracts. People here are very receptive to accepting Gospel tracts. One lady, Olinda, came to visit me and pulled out a very dog-eared tract and said she took it with her everywhere to share with other people. Did I have any more she could have? Of course! Pray that God's Word will fall on prepared heart-soil and bear fruit.

Last Monday there were eleven deaf who came for Source of Light Bible studies. I am still seeking the Lord's will on how to give each one more time and better attention. It would be great if there would be someone else to join me in this ministry. For the past three Sundays, I have taught a Sunday School class for deaf children. There have only been two little boys the past two Sundays, Hector and Ivo. Please pray for more children to come and for the Lord's guidance in teaching them.

Next week our mission administrator, Bob Trout, and his wife, Lynne, will be in Iquitos to help us strategize for our future ministry here. Please pray for wisdom for all of us and that we will be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit. May the Lord's will be done in and through us.

Again, thank you for your prayers. We need them! You are in my prayers, as well. Keep looking up!

Your sister in Christ,
Lynn Porter
