Dear Prayer Warriors,
Thank you for your prayers. I have nothing new to report for myself but
wanted to pass on the email message below that I received from Brittany
Cassidy, daughter of Patrick and Gina Cassidy in Iquitos. Let us bathe them
in prayer that the whole family may rest in God's peace during these trying
circumstances.
Also, please pray for Pastor Abraham and Patsy who will be traveling
tomorrow and for the deaf believers to remain true to the Lord in their
absence.
God bless you all!
Love in Christ,
Lynn Porter
P.S. Happy Birthday, Patrick

Dear Partners,
First, I would like to thank you all SO MUCH for your continued
prayers and e-mails, they have been such a GREAT encouragement, not only
to my parents, but to me, Mike, Zach, and Hannah as well. I love to
print them out and re-read them whenever the enemy tries to discourage
us.
I am writing to update you on the latest. We received a notice a few
days ago from the judge stating that she would like for EVERYONE involved
in this accident ,including the witnesses, to go to the scene of the
accident on December 16th (my Dad's birthday) and re-enact the accident.
We knew a couple of weeks ago that we were going to need to do this over
again, but we did not realize that everyone involved in this case was
going to be included. This can be quite a nerve-racking event, not only
because everyone from the other party will be trying to tell their side
of the story to the judge while we are out there, but as well, people on
the streets will probably be yelling at us and sharing false information
to the Judge. Here in Peru when something like this takes place everyone
gets interested and the crowds love to surround you, sometimes even the
news media gets involved. Last time we had to re-enact the accident the
news media came out. My family and I prayed soooo hard, earnestly asking
God to remove them from the scene. Although there were some tense moments
they did end up leaving and as you can imagine we were rejoicing.
Please especially be praying on this day, Dec.16, that the news media
will not be present. Also pray that it will be a quick re-enactment so we
can celebrate my dad's birthday. It seems the enemy is working hard.
Last time Dad & Mom had to do this it took all day and it was on Fathers
Day weekend, the next time it was during the July 4th weekend and than
almost Thanksgiving Day. It was a bit discouraging when we found out that
now it is on my dad's birthday.
My parents are holding up well, but I know this has to be wearing on
them. I know they don't want to discourage us, so they keep their chins
up and try to keep smiling. I see that they are relying on God, but I
also see that this accident is affecting ALL of us. Please pray that God
would see it fit to end this soon. We would all like some normalcy in our
lives. Please also pray for patience for us all, pray that God would
give us a love for our "Enemies," peace in the midst of this troubling
situation, and above all TOTAL reliance on Him.
Again, thank you so much for your prayers, we know you are continually
praying for us and this brings so much comfort. :)
In His Arms,
Brittany Ann Cassidy

" But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of
the power may be of God and not of us. We are hard- pressed on every
side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted,
but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed..."
