Dear Prayer Warriors,

Easter greetings to each of you in your areas of labor in our Lord’s vineyard! May we all be busy about our Father’s business, sowing and watering the seed of the Word, and see Him give the increase. Truly, in Christ, we can do all things, but without Him, we can do nothing. Thank you for praying for me. I need it! Without your partnership, my ministry here would be a little or no effect for the Kingdom of God. Pray that God will be first in my heart, thoughts, and words, that I will be faithful in sharing His good news at every opportunity, that I will serve others in true humility.

Praise the Lord for the deaf who have been studying the Source of Light Bible lessons! In March I averaged 14 students a week. It is difficult not to be at the Efata Baptist Church nor be able to take them there to church. Please pray for Holy Spirit wisdom to be able to counsel them.

It has been encouraging to be involved at the Bible institute again. Introduction to the Bible has been challenging to teach to the first year students. Learning about verbal, plenary inspiration and canonicity as relates to God’s Word will lay a solid foundation for their study of this precious Revelation of God’s Truth over the next 4 years. There are 8 students who are persevering.

The past 5 Sundays I have had opportunities to visit in 5 Baptist churches here in Iquitos. Last Sunday the pastor asked to teach a ladies’ Sunday School class. They would like me to teach them every Sunday so I am praying about that. The church is clear on the other side of town, near the airport, and is called El Salvador (The Savior) Baptist Church. I could teach them for a couple of months and encourage the ladies to get involved in preparing and sharing in the lessons. Quite a few in the church are also studying the Source of Light Bible lessons. Please pray with me concerning the Lord’s will in this regard. Sunday before last I attended Gethsemane Baptist Church and gave out Source of Light diplomas to 36 students in that church.

Today began the annual Baptist Association meetings with the theme of “Preparing for the Conquest.” The teachers this morning spoke on Joshua, how he went from being a slave to a soldier to Moses’ servant to a spy and, finally, to the leader who would take them into Canaan. In the second class we studied from the book of Joshua as well – the conquest of Jericho that came about by Israel’s faith and obedience to God’s commands and the grace God displayed in Rahab’s life. Each church will be having evangelistic campaigns in their churches Thursday – Saturday nights, and we will all meet together for Sunday services in the Coliseum. May the Lord’s church grow and bring glory to His Name! Please pray!

Have a Blessed Easter celebrating our Savior’s resurrection! Thank God for the marvelous gift of His Son!

Your sister in Christ,
Lynn Porter
