Dear Prayer Warriors,

Thank you for your prayers on behalf of the ministry among the deaf here in Iquitos. God continues to work, and we rejoice in the opportunities that come our way. The prayer and planning time on March 25 was a blessing, and we have made progress on several fronts, including the retreat in July, the missions trip to the deaf down river in January, and the Easter campaign.

Our Easter campaign will actually take place a week early - this week! Evangelist Jim Sloan and Brother Joe Kotvas will be arriving in Iquitos on Thursday, April 6, to begin the special meetings that night. We will have four nights of meetings, through Sunday night. Please pray for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit in the preparation of hearts to receive the Word, in wisdom and strength for Brother Jim as he preaches, and in the salvation of souls. May we seek the Lord with all our hearts and give ourselves first to Him for His glory and then spend ourselves in His service, loving, winning, and serving others in His Name.

The school year has started well. It is exciting to see the returning students and to make new contacts. Our kindergarten class of one has now increased to three and a couple more prospective students have promised to come. Last night I learned of a new government school for special students that includes some 15 deaf children. More young people to invite to church! There were 5 deaf children and 4 hearing children in my Sunday School class last night, so that class is growing as well. Praise the Lord and keep praying!

Another praise is that all the tests came back negative for cancer. Doctora Lozada's recommendation to me was to get a fan for my teaching work at the deaf school. The past couple of days have been especially hot here in the jungle. The allergy rash is still there but not as bad as it was. I'm still waiting on the biopsy results from that.

Thank God for the precious gift of His Son, our Savior, the Lord Jesus! May your celebration of His sacrifice and triumph be sweet and give you many opportunities to share the Good News with others. Keep looking up!

Your sister in Christ,
Lynn Porter
